DJ Steve Aoki Named WPT Brand Ambassador  The World Poker Tour is officially headed into a grand 20th season. And to help boost the brand, organisers have named popular DJ and music producer Steve Aoki as the tour’s latest ambassador.

The famous artist is no stranger to Poker. With the game already a favourite pastime, Aoki now gets to take his passion for cards to the next level.

For the WTP, Thursday’s announcement forms part of a huge overall revamp of the brand as it enters its next big season.

He’s Long Loved The Brand

In addition to a long history around the Poker tables, Aoki has over the years been involved in the building of several big brands.

In terms of Poker, he last year took part in the WTP Heads-Up Poker Championship. And the fact that he happens to be friends with some of the best players in the world won’t hurt his newest endeavour either.

Looking ahead to 2022, Aoki will put in a special guest appearance at several WTP promotional events meant to boost and develop the brand. One such event will take on the form of an invite-only charity event set to be played in Las Vegas. Due to be played in mid-2022, this special event will be played in order to raise funds or the Aoki Foundation. The foundation has its focus on science and brain-related research.

For Aoki, the WPT has been something he’s closely followed for many years, the artist explained in response to his new role. He thanked the team for the confidence placed in him while saying he had admired the brand for many years. He said it’s an incredible honour to now be an actual part of the WPT family.

Aoki The Perfect WPT Fit

Welcoming the Vegas-based artist and DJ on board had been World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska. According to the WPT executive, what makes of Aoki the ideal fit for the brand is a combination of passion for the game and the energy he brings to public events.

Aoki is dedicated to inspire those around him, said Pliska, which makes of him the perfect brand ambassador for the WPT.

WPT Season XX, meanwhile, officially kicked off on Thursday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. While the schedule for the only the first half of the 2022 season was announced, more events are expected to be added soon.

Aoki isn’t the only celebrity to become a brand ambassador to Poker this year. Scheduled to star as the master of ceremonies for the WSOP at this year’s big Paris Las Vegas event is none other than comedian/actor Vince Vaughn.
