London To Host The World’s Richest Poker Game
Not only is London considered to be one of the world’s wealthiest cities but its also about to be become the host city to the richest Poker tournament ever played. Best not get too excited too soon about possibly participating though. The £1.05 million entry fee is the least of your worries because in order to participate in the Triton Million Helping Hand for Charity tournament, you either have to be in possession of a special invite from Triton Poker; something that is said to be notoriously hard to come by, even for those with exceptionally deep pockets; or you’ll have to get any one of Poker’s 100 million club to invite you along as their single guest of honour. We’re talking personal friend of Rui Cao, Bryn Kenney or David Peters.
But before it all starts to sound like a whole lot of tight-lipped pomp and circumstance; which its really not, by the way; its best to mention that the 1 – 3 August special tournament is being played for a very good cause indeed. £50,000 of the entrance fee is considered a donation to charity. The remaining £1 million is the buy-in for the world’s wealthiest game.
Poker’s Elite Will Be There
The event is the annual flagship instalment on the Triton Poker Super High Roller calendar and this year it will be played in the Grand Ballroom of London’s Hilton, which is situated on Park Lane. The event is a partypoker-sponsored event and as mentioned before, isn’t the first of its kind. London follows a host of other top invitation-only locations including the Philippines, Jeju (South Korea), Macau, Manilla and also Montenegro.
Among those confirmed to have been invited by Triton Poker are American businessman and mogul entrepreneur Rick Salomon, Triton co-founder Paul Phua, 1978 WSOP main event winner Bobby Baldwin and Hong Kong investor and businessman Stanley Choi.
According to Triton ambassador Jason Koon, London won’t be his first Triton High Roller event. In fact, said Koon, having participated in various Triton High Roller events all over the world, they remain some of the most exhilarating games he’s ever had the good fortune of playing.
Koon said that playing high stakes against the world’s best was what he was after and that no other tournament ticked as many boxes as did Triton Poker. The fact that all of the players participating in this year’s event will be part of the making of history is a special treat. It is after all the richest Poker game ever played.
