WPT Final Table Action Here At Long Last
Spring is finally coming – and so are the final World Poker Tour tables delayed for more than a year now due to the big global interrupt. Originally reached during the first couple of months of last year, the tables in question were all supposed to have been played in Las Vegas on March 31st. Fate, however, had other plans, and everything went on hold before any of that could happen.
Folks have been clamoring for the delayed events to be played ever since live action returned to the World Poker Tour in January 2021. Several online events were played in the meantime, but the demand for live final table action has stuck all throughout the global hiatus.
Exciting May Month Coming Up
The first of the final tables have in fact already been played live. March 10 saw the live action return to the felt for the WPT Gardens Poker Championship.
Next up will be hosted a standalone event with three more final tables. The final table action of last year’s WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open will be settled on May 16. This will be followed by more settling of the scores as the action returns to the felt for the WPT L.A. Poker Classic.
Also on the live WPT Poker cards is a final table for concluding a yet-to-be-played 2021 event, namely the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, scheduled for May 18. Only recently revealed, the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown will feature a massive $2 million guaranteed prize pool at a $3,500 buy-in for joining the field.
Notable changes include that of venue.
Instead of sticking to tradition by hosting the final table WPT events at the Luxor’s HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas, all of the action will go down at the PokerGO Studio, which is situated just outside of the legendary ARIA.
Since the original plan will be followed in terms of televised final tables, no streaming will be provided during any of the final table runs. The World Poker Tour has however confirmed that it will have on hand a crew of commentators for providing a run-through of the live final table action.
Confirmed the WPT late last week, all players set to partake across the final table action will be obligated to wear protective face masks, as well as to receive a mandatory test beforehand. Anybody testing positive will receive the standard ICM payout for their own individual stack.
