Microgaming Reveals Plans For New GoT Slot
It’s true that there are more fans of HBO’s Game of Thrones now than ever before. That it’s a timeless classic is no secret and even though the final curtain has dropped on the Lannisters and the Targaryens, the show is far from over; or at least to our minds it isn’t. Which is why the news that casino games giant Microgaming is working on a new GoT-branded slot for release later this year is pretty damn stellar news indeed.

Not that the planned release will be the software giant’s first brush with the franchise. Microgaming in 2014 released the first result of its having sealed a deal with HBO for the exclusive rights to develop a Game of Thrones-branded slot. Game of Thrones Power Stacks is expected to build further on the existing brand relationship between the two parties.
Created By Slingshot Studios
Exciting news too is that the new Game of Thrones Power Stacks will be developed for Microgaming by independent studio partner Slingshot Studios. The slot will include various features and according to Microgaming Chief Commercial Officer Jean-Luc Ferreire, by delivering a feature-rich slot, the developer hopes to ensure that players are able to enjoy an “authentic Game of Thrones themed gaming experience”.
Ferreire furthermore commented on the exceptional popularity of HBO’s Game of Thrones and said that the brand has “garnered a devoted following among viewers, along with incredible media attention” and that by launching a game that will feature the leading personalities from the world of Westeros, players will once again be able to relive the sheer magic and popularity of the brand.
Awards And Acclaim For GoT
The Game of Thrones brand is without a doubt one of the most popular and phenomenal brands to have hit modern-day viewing entertainment. The show garnered a phenomenal 160 Primetime Emmy Award nominations culminating in a nearly-unheard-of 59 wins. The show’s 8th and final season attracted 7 Golden Globe nominations and 1 win.
Perhaps most incredible and exceptional of all is that the final episode was watched by 19.3 million viewers all over the world on a variety of HBO platforms. This makes Game of Thrones one of the most-watched shows in the history of televised entertainment.
Microgaming’s being a part of all of this is yet another testimony to the fact that there’s just no beating the world’s leading casino software developer. If that doesn’t deserve an award, then we don’t know what does.
