New Lotto 6/49 Jackpot Launching in September
In September 2022, Canadians will have the opportunity to play for not one, but two multi-million dollar prizes – every Wednesday and Saturday. The upcoming promotion will include the brand-new Gold Ball Jackpot, with prize money growing from $10 million to a whopping $60 million twice every week.
Each game will comprise of a single selection of numbers numbering 6 from 1 to 49, plus an additional computer-generated 10-digit number.
Lotto 6/49 draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday, with tickets sold until 10:30 p.m. on draw nights.
Across The Border
With so many options available to Canadians, there’s no reason not to play for a chance to win life-changing sums of money.
Another great game available also to Canadians is the historic US$1.1 Mega Millions jackpot. Even though the game is based in the United States, Canadians are more than welcome to play along for a chance at bagging their share of the third-largest jackpot in the history of the US Lottery.
The Mega Millions Jackpot has increased to its current height because it has now been 29 draws in a row since anyone has correctly predicted the six numbers required to bag the massive prize money.
For Canadians living close to the border, the easiest way to play along is to purchase a ticket by driving south. Tickets can be purchased in all of 45 US states.
There’s also the option of making use of a third-party service to buy a Mega Millions Lottery ticket. In 2015, a resident of Iraq bagged a whopping $6.4 million via a lottery ticket purchased through an online agent.
Millions In Unclaimed Winnings
This past weekend, a resident of Ontario struck it lucky with a single winning ticket purchased for Friday’s Lotto Max Jackpot. The lucky winner kicked off their weekend with a massive $55 million in Lotto prize money. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), the winning ticket was purchased in Toronto.
Another lucky winner walked away with Maxmillion prize money to the tune of $1 million.
The OLG also said that it is currently waiting on the winner of a $70 million Lotto Max ticket from the June 28 draw to claim their prize money. This ticket was also sold in Toronto.
Following a draw, claimants have one year from the draw date to claim their prize money. Players can check their tickets on the OLG’s website.
