Vacant Executive Positions

Currently, there are several executive positions within the British Columbia Lottery Corporation that have not been filled. These include Vice President of Social Purpose & Stakeholder Engagement, Vice President of People & Culture, Vice President of Compliance, Legal & Security, and Chief Compliance Officer.

With so many open positions, BCLC has been actively looking for new names to add to its staff roster. The process of selecting the new Finance & Corporate Services Vice President and Chief Financial Officer took some time, as the Corporation searched for the right person to fill the challenging position. Ultimately, they found who they were looking for in Kerr.

Extensive Experience

Kerr is a seasoned finance industry insider, currently serving as the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada’s Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Services, and is expected to help ensure a bright future for BCLC.

Kerr has years of experience, including in the Royal Canadian Navy as well as public and private financial institutions. His extensive work in people management makes him even more suited to his new role. Commenting on the new appointment, BCLC Interim President and CEO Greg Moore expressed his satisfaction and noted that Kerr was the obvious choice.

Relocating to Kamloops

Kerr has publicly stated that he is ready to dedicate his time and skills to BCLC, and is working on relocating to Kamloops from his current residence in Ottawa. This shows his level of commitment, and he and his wife are also eager to make contributions to the overall Kamloops community.

Diverse culture, as well as thriving arts, sports and educational communities make Kamloops a city with plenty of potential. Through both its indirect and direct work, BCLC is also supporting the metropolis. The Technology Innovation Lab, which began in 2018, is a perfect example of BCLC support.

In the Technology Innovation Lab, Thompson Rivers University students take part in a BCLC-sponsored educational programme and are able to embark on an 8-month journey to explore technological innovations.

The most recent Lab involved work on choose-your-own-adventure games for mobile devices. Kerr is expected to help coordinate and continue this exciting project in his new role, and to launch many new initiatives.
