2018 Delivers One Final Multimillion Lotto MAX Prize

The festive season was seemingly particularly kind to lottery players across Canada. Towards the end of 2018, two massive jackpots were landed just days apart, giving locals something more to be thankful for as the year drew to a close.

Thanks to just a single lucky ticket, one punter from the South Delta region managed to score a life-changing win of $39.5 million in local currency. The win landed just a few days after another player had bagged themselves a $60 million grand prize, showing that in some cases, trying your luck really does pay off!

A single lucky ticket won one punter a life-changing win of $39.5 million

British Columbia Player Wins Huge

The two prizes were delivered by Lotto MAX – one of Canada’s most popular gaming suppliers. Due to its widespread popularity and its audience consisting of millions of punters, the provider’s prizes have become increasingly larger over the past few years, with almost all of them reaching into the multi-million range.

This was confirmed once more by the latest massive win, which granted a wondrous windfall to one fortunate resident of British Columbia. The exact location of the ticket’s purchase was confirmed by Lotto MAX’s database, and it was also confirmed that all seven matching numbers had indeed been selected by the punter.

The winning digits for the $39.5 million prize were 5, 13, 14, 16, 17, 29, and 49, with bonus number 18. It seems that such a line of numbers containing so many consecutive numerals would have been very hard to match, but in reality, these numbers had just as much chance of being drawn as any other combination.

Runners-up Share $203,242 in Cash

Thanks to Lady Luck smiling down on one player in particular, that punter is now CA$39,517,071.40 richer as a result. Along with the grand prize that was struck by just one Canadian, two residents of Ontario also shared the runner-up position and its consolation prize between them. The duo both revealed six of the seven digits drawn, as well as the bonus number, and will be splitting CA$203,242.40 equally as their prize.

The wins have clearly demonstrated how a single digit, like the bonus number, could propel the overall prize on offer to epic new proportions for game participants. The big winner mentioned above has exactly one year from December 28, 2018 to claim their prize – after validating their winning ticket, of course! Once this is done, they can claim their over-sized check from one of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s many claiming offices.
