Cats –The Movie Trailer Met With Mixed Reactions
Cats. You gotta love’em. The Internet certainly does. And soon, on December 20 to be exact, cat lovers will be feasting their eyes on the ultimate feline celebration when a star-studded cast congregate on the big screen to present to feline fans all over the world the first ever film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical “Cats”.
The die has been cast and the trailer released, meaning its as done a deal as ever that December is going to me a month among months, or as one Twitter user recently put it, the upcoming release of Cats is officially her new reason for living. Overkill? Maybe. But then again, the film does bring together some of the biggest names in entertainment today. These include Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, Rebel Wilson, James Cordon, Jennifer Hudson and Idris Elba. Not to mention even the fact that none other than “Les Misérables” director Tom Hooper directed the ultimate kitty-fest.
Don’t Look Now, But Look Now
But back to the thing of beautiful disturbance that has the Internet in a frenzy. The trailer. Its been described by some as something that “once seen can never again be unseen”, which is pretty much the case with all top film content, when you really think about it.
Jennifer Hudson is the voice behind the imagery and the tagline, “this Christmas, you will believe” is a precursor to exactly how true “seeing is believing” turns out to be in this particular case. And if the recent real-life Lion King movie comes to mind, banish the thought immediately, because Cats (the movie) is in an animals-coming-to-life league of its own.
More Movie Than A Trailer
What’s more, the trailer really does deliver on all of the promises created by the afore-going hype. Its immediately evident whether or not any trailer will ultimately turn out to be the only really “good” bits of a movie jammed all into one, and so much so that watching a trailer is already enough. It can be categorically stated that this isn’t the case with Cats.
Who wouldn’t want more of Jennifer Hudson’s voice attached to a Jennifer Hudson cat-body being, well, Jennifer Hudson. And then of course there’s James and Rebel and Taylor too for good cat-loving measure. Not that sounds just purr-fect!
