Wynn Partners With Data Corp. Genius Sports
Wynn Resorts’ WynnBET has partnered with sports betting data provider Genius Sports by inking an agreement that will see the provider offering sports book operator services to Wynn’s betting unit. The London-based provider will henceforth be providing WynnBET with LiveData and LiveTrading service for all its in-game wagering in three U.S. states – New Jersey, Colorado, and Michigan.
In addition to the above-mentioned three states, WynnBET also recently secured access to and has submitted applications to be licensed in Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.
In-Game Wagering Is The Future
Since in-game wagering is being viewed as a major growth area for gaming companies because of its potential for increasing gaming and betting engagement among a younger generation of tech-savvy bettors, it’s considered a huge opportunity in terms of providing operators with an additional revenue stream.
According to Genius Chief Commercial Officer Jack Davison, the rise of in-game wagering handle can be directly tied to the increasing number of states currently in the process of introducing online betting legislation and regulation. And WynnBET, said Davison, has recognised the link between direct engagement and the value of data in this particular context.
In-game betting is astoundingly popular in most European markets and is viewed to be an anti-dote to slower sports prone to frequent interruptions in action, for example baseball and golf. The popularity of the in-game betting handle has also witnessed exponential growth in several “outside markets”, explained Davison.
Daytona Perfect For In-Race Bets
WynnBET and Genius announced and launched the new partnership during the recent Daytona 500, with WynnBET now in a position to offer over 15 different varieties of “in-race” Daytona wagers spread across the course of the 2021 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series.
The partnership clearly acts a boost to Wynn’s plans for involvement in NASCAR sports betting offerings, which it first announced as recently as last October. Wynn last year with great ado made public a multi-year sports betting association with the famous stock car auto racing association. The announcement also coincided with the casino and sports betting giant’s application for a sports betting licence in Virginia.
While stock car racing may not anytime soon achieve the same popularity heights as those enjoyed by sports such as basketball or football, it remains highly receptible to a large variety of unique in-race wagers and exotic (prop) bets. Also making the sport particularly suited to in-race (live) betting are its many interruptions for caution flags following the initial two stages of every race, or event.
