Mortal Kombat 11 Developer Teases New SecretsGloriously violent video game Mortal Kombat 11 has been out since 2018. The release saw it made available on virtually every platform under the sun, including the PC, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and more. The game also achieved admirable success, with player counts reaching into the multiple millions.

But with the years now ticking along, it only makes sense that Mortal Kombat 11 would start to lose a few players. After all, with everything on offer already seen, what would keep players coming back? Apparently the secrets.

In a surprise announcement, a verified developer of the title announced that a number of in-game secrets have yet to be discovered.

Still Much More To see

It was at the Reset Era video game forum that the announcement was made. The developer stated simply that Mortal Kombat 11 has more to offer, specifically in the way of undiscovered secrets. Naturally, many hard-core players were delighted to hear this. But others didn’t respond so positively. Accusations were quickly thrown out that the developer is simply trying to keep players interested, and that no unseen secrets exist. It is, after all, in the best interest of a company to keep a user base active. Even if keeping them interested involves lies.

On the other hand, there are more than a few signs that Mortal Kombat 11 does indeed hold more secrets. The in-game Krypt houses a mysterious gong, and even the most dedicated players aren’t sure of its purpose. Data miners have also reported that a fight involving the character Reptile has yet to be triggered.

Known For Its Easter Eggs

Some players have declared that they will return to the game to see what they can find. Others have gone so far as to say that any secrets this well-hidden must be worth the effort. Though, lest it be forgotten, The Krypt portion of the game operates on various in-game currencies, all of which can be bought with real money. So, a horde of secret hunters will certainly be beneficial to NetherRealm Studios, the team behind the Mortal Kombat franchise.

If more secrets do eventually surface remains to be seen. But given the history of the franchise for having often absurdly well-hidden nuggets, it certainly wouldn’t be surprising if more Easter Eggs were found. It all really depends on how much fans are willing to spend in order to go secret hunting.
