GTA 6 Details Leaked
An anonymous leaker on Reddit claims to have inside information regarding the launch of GTA 6 – stating that the open-world sequel will feature a single, male, leading character in 1970s Florida, and could be launched in October 2023. The story, claims the leaker, will follow a chaptered format, i.e. one similar in layout to Red Dead Redemption 2.
The leaker also provided specific details regarding the length of the story, claiming it be around 60 hours long. The lead character, who will apparently be codenamed “Ricardo”, will go about his business in Miami, which would of course suggest a return to Vice City. The Reddit leaker also suggests that although the map will be much smaller than that of Red Dead Redemption 2, it will be way denser and more detailed.
Important to note, however, is that the leak originated from a dubious internet message forum called 4chan, which site has attracted the reputation of spreading plenty of fake news over many years. Only the occasional legitimate bit of news has seen the light via 4chan, for example the first pre-release details of Pokémon Let’s Go.
What does however make the leak very different to most others seen before is that it was presented in an hour-long AMA session before it got taken down. This may either mean that the leaker has an imagination catering specifically to a typical player wish list, or that the details provided are actually correct.
If the leaker is in fact legitimate, then we can also expect to see a remastered version of the first Red Dead Redemption launched before GTA 6.
An In-Depth Reveal
More details regarding GTA 6 include Liberty City having only limited missions in the new release, with the Mafia family’s influence heavily seen all throughout. Also, several minigames are to be featured, including Windsurfing, Surfing, and Roller Derby.
The leaker also alleged that just like with Red Dead Redemption 2, the online version of GTA 6 will launch some months before the single player version of the game. A key difference between GTA 6 and GTA 5 will allegedly be that 6 will be much more grounded than 5, meaning no more flying cars.
When a fellow Reddit user responded to the leak by asking for something specific that can at a later stage be used to verify the credibility of the information, the leaker responded by revealing that character Ken Rosenberg will several times refer to a character called Tommy Vercetti – but with the only difference being that the player will never actually meet Vercetti.
