GTA 6 A Priority For Rockstar Right Now

GTA 6 A Priority For Rockstar Right NowEven though Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) hasn’t been officially announced by the developers at Rockstar Games, news reports seem to suggest the latest version of the game is pretty much all they’re working on right now.

While Take-Two Interactive has listed over 50 new titles planned for release for the next few years, it seems GTA 6 will be the only new arrival from Rockstar. This following a news report shared this week claiming the team to be working hard at bringing the latest addition to the popular series to Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles.

Rumour Has It

Making the prediction had been leading gaming analyst AccNgt, who took to Twitter with a Q&A session regarding what likely to expect of a possible release and date. If indeed the prediction regarding Rockstar Gaming working on a single release only proves to be on the money, it would spell good news indeed GTA fans.

For an entire studio to focus on a single sequel only would not be far-fetched in GTA’s case. 6 is, after all, the most hotly anticipated sequel in years. And fans will enjoy the notion of the studio working uninterrupted on the sequel without any smaller games pushing back the release date.

As far as current expectations go, the next Grand Theft Auto release is expected to hit the market as a “next-gen console exclusive”, meaning it will launch first of all on PS5 and Xbox Series X. This is nothing new for Rockstar and the studio’s tendency of focusing first on console before moving on to PC.

2023 Likely A Charm

Rockstar may not have revealed much of anything in terms of a possible release date, but predictions indicate anywhere between 2023 and 2025.

According to predictions made by several financial as well as gaming analysts, 2023 could in fact be the year the first playable version of the new release becomes available for multiple platforms. If this turns out to be the case, we can expect to see an announcement by Rockstar Games some time later this year.

Even so, it should probably be mentioned at this stage that Rockstar Games has continued to work on Red Dead Online and GTA Online, with fresh new content seeing the light every few months. And since rumour has it a Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5 port could be released later this year, GTA fans may have to wait a short time longer for their next big fix.
