Canadian Gaming Awards 2014

June Awards Ceremony

The Canadian Gaming Awards 2014 took place in June. This year the awards ceremony was the culmination of a Gaming Summit that took place in Vancouver. During the week of the Summit there are conferences and trade shows, network opportunities and new innovations. Gaming industry innovators show their latest developments and there are stands with different games to try out and lots of free giveaways. The Awards ceremony is in conjunction with a special charity gala dinner. This year the Family Services of Greater Vancouver were honoured at the charity dinner. Entertainment was provided by David Merry, one of the most up and coming and successful comic magicians in Canada today.  Guest at the dinner spent an incredible evening with delicious food, interesting speeches and the culmination awards ceremony where they saw their friends and coworkers being awarded for their hard work and devotion.

Leadership, Accomplishments, Employee of the Year Awards

The three main awards given at this year’s ceremony were for Industry Leadership and Outstanding Contribution, Accomplishments and Achievements. Leadership and Employee of the Year. In this year’s ceremony the local Aboriginal community were also recognized and rewarded for their contributions to the Canadian Gaming Industry. This year marks the eighteenth year of the gaming summit and with each year, as can be seen from this year’s layout, the face of gaming is changing.  This year’s summit and awards ceremony focused much more on the development of the gaming industry online and the electronic gaming although there were still a lot of details about new games that have been added at the traditional casinos.

Everyone Wants an Invite

The Canadian Gaming Awards 2014 is one of the most revered events in the gaming industry. The different industry members work towards this evening each year in the hope that they will be one of the acclaimed winners. The awards committee do not just look at the games and the work that has been achieved by different members but also at the individuals and leaders of the gaming community and what innovations they have brought and if they have added any special systems, ideas or contributions to the industry.  Another aspect of the Canadian Gaming Awards 2014 that literally warms the heart is that of the charity contributions made by the different players in the industry. Apart from the actual gala dinner that is in fact a charity dinner, with contributions going to the Family Services of Greater Vancouver, there are also many other charitable contributions made during the year by the different gaming companies and these are also recognized at the awards ceremony.  The event this year was a colourful, emotional and very entertaining evening where gaming industry members from around the country met up and discussed their different ideas concluding with a gala event of good food, great entertainment and plenty of recognition for the new leaders in the Canadian gaming industry.
