Rivers Casino Ready For Betting’s Big Return
New York’s Rivers Casino in Schenectady is reportedly anticipating a busy rest-of-March, with sports betting set to take the exciting sports events remaining for the month to new levels of hype. Sports fans will not only be able to place bets on their favourite events at the venue itself, but they’ll also get to enjoy all of the perks of the venue’s March Madness event while spinning away at their casino games of choice.
Fans were last year unable to enjoy the excitement of betting on sports during March Madness. The venue had been ordered to shutter its doors shortly after the first of the lockdown restrictions were announced in the state. This had led to a particularly difficult year for Rivers Casino Schenectady, making January’s return to business as usual only all that more welcome an event.
More Sports, More Hype
The recently started NCAA basketball tournament, which got underway on Thursday, is expected to ramp up the sports betting action into the red.
According to Rivers Casino Schenectady regular guest Joe Cavallo, who claims not to be too big a sports betting fan, but definitely a firm sports fanatic and addict, the entire city erupts into action and excitement around this time each year. Cavallo said he’s more than ready to place his own bets at the popular gambling establishment. He says March Madness is the ultimate time of the year at Rivers Casino, with people each year flying in from all over the world to enjoy the celebrations.
Even though sports bettors from New York State aren’t permitted to wager on local teams or players, the casino said it is still anticipating a massive inflow of support as March Madness gets underway.
Relief Came In January
While it’s true that casinos all over the US and Canada have had to struggle through 2020, many – especially in the US – have reported exceptional improvements for January of this year.
Reports show that New York’s four commercial gaming venues generated a whopping US$3.57 million during January 2021 alone, with Rivers Casino alone having emerged as responsible for a cool US$1.43 of the total of the income generated. This amount constitutes a record month of January for the beloved venue.
But Rivers Casino is about more than making money and turning a profit. The venue last year participated in the 2021 Problem Gambling Awareness month proceedings, which campaign aims to promote gambling in a safe and responsible manner along with helping those experiencing an unhealthy relationship with gaming entertainment get back on top of their behaviour.
