IGT Confirms Nevada Approval Of Resort Wallet
Global casino tech giant International Game Technology (IGT) is celebrating yet another significant milestone achievement following the approval of its carded cashless system, Resort Wallet. The prototype has now successfully passed through the final stages of approval by Nevada’s gaming regulator.
State-wide distribution is the next step, which deployment will enable IGT’s customers to offer to their casino patrons the option of a safe and effortless cashless slot gaming payment system – not to mention more hygienic because of the system also promoting reduced physical contact. Resort Wallet forms part of the gaming corporation’s Advantage casino management system.
A Simple And Friendly Process
How the system works is that it provides to players a cash-free loyalty card for the transferring of money (cash) into a safe and secure personal digital wallet. Transfers of cash into the wallet may be made either via the actual cashier’s desk at the casino, or via any slot machine enabled for Resort Wallet compatibility.
Once registered and in possession of a Resort Wallet loyalty card, players then merely insert their PIN-protected “money card” into a slot machine, transfer funds to their game play, and at the end of the gaming session, cash out their winnings and/or remaining balance to their secure digital wallet. What’s more, players may also opt to move only a portion of their available funds from the slot machine to their digital wallet (card) – and request the Resort Wallet-enabled slot machine to print a ticket for the balance of the funds.
Transferring funds and managing a cashless system has never been quite as convenient and user-friendly. And according to IGT Vice President of VLT, Ryan Reddy, it is exactly the convenience and increased liquidity that makes the system the unique and valuable cashless tool that it is.
Promoting Health And Security
In addition to slot machine play, players can also use the funds deposited to their Resort Wallet at table games, when betting on sports, and even at retail points-of-sale. This greatly reduces long queues and the formation of groups of people in close proximity at casino cash desks – thereby promoting physical distancing and personal safety among patrons.
The system furthermore reduces costs associated with the handling of cash – while at the same time improving safety and security associated with cash management and transportation. And in addition to the physical safety issues, the system also promotes safer gambling habits by displaying responsible gaming stats and information via the NexGen display on slot machines as well as by means of player-notifications on the downloadable Resort Wallet mobile app.
