Starlight Casino London Construction On Hold
What was supposed to have been a new development right and ready to welcome its first customers by no later than the warmer months of 2021, will now in all likelihood have to bump up its opening-party plans by literally months into the future. Major delays all over the world are causing opening-date postponements and in some cases even complete cancellations of projects. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment’s in-construction Starlight Casino London will hopefully eventually be in position to welcome its first players, but the timeline will change dramatically.
The $75 million development on Wonderland South Road was supposed to have witnessed the breaking of significant ground over the course of the coming weeks but since public health is now a global world number 1 priority, all construction projects have officially been put on temporary hold until further notice.
Starlight Casino London will once eventually complete, offer to local players an entertainment experience not unlike that enjoyed in Las Vegas. Gateway’s idea is to keep it classic and in the spirit of an authentic Nevada experience. Once open, the casino and entertainment venue is expected to attract thousands of visitors each week.
The Progress So Far
The cement production company that previously occupied the space earmarked for construction of a new Gateway-casino has now been successfully removed from the premises and all of the leftover building materials have been removed.
Gateway’s appointed construction team has also finished erecting the construction boards necessary for commencing the building processes involved in the construction of the new Starlight Casino London. For the moment though, the processes had to be halted so as to ensure the safety of construction workers and passers-by. Gateway has been hesitant to even try and wager a guess at when the revised completion date may be.
But once complete, the venue will without doubt be something special to behold. The complex will be home to a casino consisting of some 900 slot machines and 40 table games – an impressive collection of games and activities by any standard. Those not of the age of majority or simply out on the town for a meal or a drink won’t be excluded and will be able to enjoy a range of family-friendly restaurant- and other offerings.
A Time For Helping Others
Regular municipal allocations will, once the casino begins to trade, no doubt offer major relief to the surrounding community at large. Thousands of people have either been temporarily laid off or have outright lost their jobs since the beginning of the year. Financial relief will be most welcome once the entertainment venue and casino does manage to open its doors to the general public.
Not only will regular municipal allocations be made to local municipal authorities, but Gateway’s latest project will also provide work for hundreds of managers, restaurant staff, cleaning staff, slot machine technicians, and other industry professionals.
