Jamie Foxx To Star In New BetMGM Campaign
Grammy and Academy Award-winning superstar and beloved celebrity personality Jamie Foxx is set to star in an upcoming new big-brand campaign for sports betting and iGaming operator BetMGM.
The big-brand bookmaker welcomed the film star to their The King of Sportsbooks campaign via a Twitter announcement earlier this week – with tagline, “All great teams surround themselves with greatness”. A campaign created by New York design-and-create agency 72andSunny exclusively for the bookmaking giant, The King of Sportsbooks will enjoy a strong social media presence as well as a more traditional television-ads based run, all of which will be featuring Foxx.
The pilot ad, which will reportedly go live over the course of the coming weeks, will apparently show Foxx levitating above the water of the legendary fountains of the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
When Sports & Entertainment Meet
The partnership between BetMGM and Jamie Foxx is according to BetMGM chief of marketing Matt Prevost, a perfect fit because the bookmaker existing at a place where sports and entertainment intersect.
The brand campaign will tell a story, explained Prevost, and is considered the next step in BetMGM’s evolution within the sports and entertainment marketplace. And since the campaign will manifest itself in the art of storytelling, it would be a challenge to find a personality better suited to the brand than Foxx.
The actor/musician has a unique, super entertaining, and exceptionally creative ability to really bring across and tell a story, said the marketing chief, which is why the team couldn’t be more thrilled at getting to welcome Foxx to the BetMGM family and brand.
A New Jersey joint venture formed in 2018 between GVC Holdings and MGM Resorts, BetMGM has since established and launched sportsbooks in Nevada, West Virginia, Colorado, Indiana, and New Jersey, all of which U.S. states have legalised betting on sports following that year’s PRASPA strike-down by a U.S. federal court.
But BetMGM hasn’t limited itself to the running of sportsbooks only, because it also recently started venturing into the online casino space by launching an online casino platform in West Virginia. It now plans on launching similar offerings in Pennsylvania and Michigan too.
What’s more, already the official partner to the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos, BetMGM also a little over a week ago announced a new sponsorship alliance alongside NFL franchise the Las Vegas Raiders. More BetMGM sponsorship deals already in existence include contracts with the NBA, MLB, and golf’s the PGA Tour.
