Evolution Gaming Thrilled With US Growth
2018 was a good year for Evolution Gaming, and not least because of its continued expansion into North America. The provider’s 2018 report boasted $275.6 million in operating revenues, and $93.8 million in profit, for the year ending 31 December.
CEO and founder, Jens von Bahr said the positive financial growth was a result of dedicated gaming environments and tables, as well as an increase in commission income from old and new customers.
Evolution Comes to Canada
Von Barh went on to describe last year as one marked by fast expansion, something that began as early as January. The provider got the year off to an excellent start with the opening of a studio in Vancouver, and went on to open two more studios in other locations.
Shedding light on the provider’s Canadian operations, the CEO said that the subdivision of the country’s regulated gaming market into Crown corporation operators helped. It allows Evolution Gaming to offer generic tables to players in 3 Quebec, British Columbia, and Manitoba. It also means the provider can offer customised tables to customers who want the option.
An Early US Entrance
The live casino gaming provider’s 2018 report also explained its early entry into the US market. According to Von Bahr, such a move had been a goal for several years, but it was only last year that the timing was judged to be right.
The assessment led to the opening of the Atlantic City studio in New Jersey; a move that has been welcomed by operators and by players. The CEO added that the US market was performing better than expected, and that he hoped for further expansion into the region in the near future.
Among the operators licensed in New Jersey with whom Evolution Gaming signed contracts were 888Casino, PokerStars Casino, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City, and Ocean Resort Casino.
