Casino Restaurant Reopens At Kamloops
Great news for those who enjoy a hearty meal during a night out on casino-town is that the Atlas Steak + Fish eatery at Gateway Casinos and Entertainment’s Cascades Casino Kamloops will soon re-open its doors to hungry customers. The venue will be the second of three of the on-site restaurants to resume trade, following the reopening of the equally popular MATCH Eatery & Public House earlier this month.
The reopening date for Atlas Steak + Fish has been confirmed for March 30, and once welcoming customers, business hours will be subject to a new schedule spanning five days per week from Tuesday to Saturday, and between the hours of 4:30pm and 10pm.
B.C. Casinos May Reopen Soon
Even though an official reopening date has not yet been announced for B.C.’s casinos, Gateway’s Director of Public Relations, Tanya Garbara, has said that the operator is absolutely thrilled that it has been given the go-ahead to un-shutter some of its restaurants and diners. According to Garbara, the restaurants at Kamloops are in constant high demand, with guests having enquired all throughout the extended periods of closures regarding a possible reopening date.
The third eatery at Kamloops, The Buffet, will in the meantime remain closed – along with the Cascades Casino. British Columbia-based casinos and gaming venues have not yet received the green light for reopening their doors from provincial government. This has been the prevailing situation for over a year now.
Gateway did however recently inform its B.C. casinos that a reopening date announcement from government appears imminent. The operator has reportedly installed the mandatory health and safety measures at all its casinos country-wide, including those located in British Columbia.
Reopening Great News For Workers
That more eateries have been permitted to reopen is of course fantastic news for Gateway’s employees. Thanks to the reopening of Atlas Steak + Fish, at least 20 more workers have been able to return to their places of employment and will once again be in a position to earn an honest day’s wages.
Casino employees who have been unable to return to their places of employment due to ongoing closures in B.C. recently released a heart wrenching video titled “Don’t Forget About Casino Workers”. In the video, Gateway employees call on government to consider their plight and to reopen British Columbia’s gaming industry. Two single mothers can be seen telling their own personal stories relating to the struggles and difficulties experienced because of province-wide casino closures.
